- Don’t “publicize” that you are homeschooling, unless you are led of the Lord to share your testimonies and the benefits of homeschooling to those who will appreciate it. Don’t shy away from witnessing to parents and their children who can benefit from your testimony and information about homeschooling, but try the spirits first (1 John 4:1). If you are concerned about a family whose children are in public schools, try sharing the information you know about public schools with them first, such as the X-rated “sex education” curriculum (see the Home Education page (https://nowprophecy.wordpress.com/home-education) for links to articles about abominable public school practices), and watch their response. If they are appalled and concerned for their children, share your home education testimony with them and introduce them to homeschooling; if they shrug it off, stay away from the subject and pray for them.
- Join the Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) https://hslda.org/), if you aren’t already a member. You have a Constitutional right to homeschool your children, but if you aren’t a member of HSLDA, your local school district and CPS (Child “Protective” Services) can make your life a living hell, to put it frankly. The cost of HSLDA membership is about $10.00 a month; you can’t afford not to be a member if CPS and/or the school district decide to harass you. You would need expert lawyers who are well versed in Constitutional law, as it relates to your right to home educate, in that event.
- We don’t have to live in fear, or hide our children, but we are to be wise (Matthew 10:16).
